Digital Environments: Disentangling Nature Through Technology

Monday 20th September 2021, 4-5.30pm

Members of the Digital Environment Expert Network participated in a chat show style event on Digital Environments: Disentangling Nature Through Technology. This event was hosted by Prof. Steve Hallett, joined by Prof. Jane Hart, Dr Jenny Brown, Dr John Siddorn and Dr Matt Fry. They wrestled with questions such as:

  • Can digital technology deepen our understanding of the natural environment?
  • How does it help in disentangling the complexities associated with nature?
  • Are we moving towards a new era of data-intensive science supported by such technological developments?

This event was part of the Entangled Festival, organised as part of Prof. Gordon Blair’s EPSRC Senior Fellowship on Digital Technology and Living with Environmental Change (DT/LWEC). The festival includes a series of expert talks and panels, podcasts, family-friendly activities, sketchbook challenge, live performance, walks and mini workshops (many available online).
