ChatGPT

We have been trying out the rather amazing OpenAI tool ‘ChatGPT‘. This extraordinary online tool (https://chat.openai.com) provides the latest in AI. We asked it what it was and it answered ‘ChatGPT is a large language model that uses deep learning to generate human-like text. It is trained on a diverse set of internet text to generate responses to a variety of prompts. It can be used for a range of natural language processing tasks such as language translation, text summarization, and question answering.‘ Great so what can it do – brilliantly amongst the many things it does, it writes proposals. We asked it to write one to review AI – off it goes….

Well, it’s not wrong! Better still – we then asked it to present this proposal in the form of a poem! Here we go!

AI, a force both great and strange
A field that’s constantly changing
Advances made at lightning pace
But what does it all mean for the human race?

We see it in our cars and phones
Making life easier, but what are the unknowns?
A review is needed, to see what’s true
The implications of AI, we must pursue.

A literature review to start the quest
To understand the present, and what’s next
Interviews with experts, to gain insight
On the direction of AI, and what’s right

A future full of promise, or full of fear?
A balance must be struck, let us make it clear
AI can help us, but we must be wise
A review is needed, to open our eyes.

This is a most amazing tool. Now we need to make sure our students don’t generate assignments with it!! Have a go!
