The ‘Constructing a Digital Environment’ portal is a big website, and has been developing over the past years. Inevitably some of the items we have covered and some of the activities undertaken have now slipped down the list of top resources. It is however useful to keep reference to these materials to ensure those interested can still locate and access these items. Below is a listing of these materials:
COVID-19
At the beginning of the pandemic, we ran a series of popular ‘Hackathons’ to address the environmental impacts and consequence of COVID-19 respecting two focal areas (i) Using the environment to generate a better understanding of the interplay between the environment and the epidemiological and health related aspects of the COVID-19 epidemic, and, (ii) Understanding how the effects of such large-scale manipulation of the planet, cessation of travel, new consumption behaviours etc. relate to tackling the crisis. NERC national capability and research funding can be deployed to seize this. The materials from these hackathon events are preserved and linked here:

Funding Announcements
As the ‘Constructing a Digital Environment’ programme developed, it was able to support a wide range of research projects. Associated with these were the earlier ‘calls’ for project ideas and the associated funding calls. At the current time there are no plans for further such calls, but this information is retained for reference.
