#DG23 – Information for Delegates (remote)

Dates

Monday 10th July 2023 (9am) to Tuesday 11th July 2023 (4pm)

Important

Remote participation in #DG23 is only possible if you register, then you will be sent the links to participate remotely by email to the email address that you register with. There is no cut-off date for remote registration but please register by Sunday 9th July at 6pm to be sure to receive the links in time. Note our intention is to place the talks online afterwards also.

Platform

The oral, plenary, keynote, spotlight on science, workshops and awards sessions will be broadcast on Zoom Meeting, the links will be sent to all remote attendees. Please note, as an online audience member you be muted and your camera will may occasionally be displayed to the audience in the room (so you may wish to turn it off for privacy). Please do not unmute your microphone unless so invited by the meeting organiser. The channel for asking questions and participating in polls and votes will be Slido (see below), which gives online and in-person attendees the same experience. Note questions or comments sent via Zoom will not normally be monitored.

Speakers delivering remote talks will be given permission to share their screen with the audience. Please visit Slido after your talk to view any unanswered questions that you may wish to respond to.

Q&A (Slido)

We will be using Slido to manage audience Q&A. We would encourage delegates to install the Slido app on their smartphone or tablet. Participation through a web-browser is also available. The code for the conference is #DG23 or use the QR code displayed here or this link. There is a “room” set up for each oral session, masterclass, keynote, and one for general Q&A. Please select the correct room for your question!

Prizes

£100 Amazon gift cards will be awarded to the best full oral presentation, £50 for the best Spotlight talk, and £50 for the best poster.

Posters

Poster presenters may or may not make digital copies of their poster available for remote viewing. Where we receive digital copies, you will be sent links to these during the conference. If you are interesting in seeing a poster that is not available online, please use Slido to request access from the author (in the Posters room).
