Parking

There are several parking options available nearby:

Madingley Road Park and Ride: This is the closest Park and Ride to the British Antarctic Survey headquarters, located just a few minutes away. The parking fee is £1 for up to 18 hours, and the buses run every 10-15 minutes, taking approximately 10 minutes to reach the city centre.

University of Cambridge West Car Park: This is a pay and display car park located on West Road, approximately 20 minutes’ walk from the British Antarctic Survey headquarters. The parking fee is £2.50 per hour, and the maximum stay is 4 hours.

Queen’s Road Car Park: This is a pay and display car park located on Queen’s Road, approximately 25 minutes’ walk from the British Antarctic Survey headquarters. The parking fee is £2.50 per hour, and the maximum stay is 4 hours.

Multi-storey car parks: There are several multi-storey car parks located in the city centre, such as the Grand Arcade car park, the Grafton Centre car park, and the Park Street car park. These are all pay and display car parks, and the parking fees vary depending on the location and duration of your stay.

Catering

Refreshments will be available in the mornings and afternoons as listed in the schedule. Buffet lunch will also be provided. There is no charge for these provisions. Special dietary needs and allergies must be declared on registration. There are also coffee shops and catering a short walk away from the venue.

COVID19

Please be considerate and do not attend the conference is you are suffering with or have recently tested positive for COVID-19 or any respiratory illness symptoms. Hand sanitiser will be available, please use this regularly when on site. The wearing of face masks is optional but encouraged, especially if you are unable to distance from other people. We have selected rooms that are large compared to the audience so that delegates can spread out, and windows will be opened as much as possible. Please register for and participate remotely if you are unable to attend due to illness.

WiFi

Free guest WiFi is available for all on site. Connection via Eduroam is also available.

Questions and Answers for Talks – SLIDO

We will be using Slido to manage audience Q&A. We would encourage delegates to install the Slido app on their smartphone or tablet. Participation through a web-browser is also available. The code for the conference is #DG23 or use the QR code displayed here or this. There is a “room” set up for each oral session, masterclass, keynote, and one for general Q&A. Please be sure to select the correct room for your question!
